Meet the East Anglian Site Engineering Team: Mike

Over the years, we have built an incredible team of highly trained engineers and administrators. Each member brings unique expertise and strengths to every project, and we take pride in delivering exceptional service together.

In the fourth of our Meet the Team post series, we’d like to introduce you to Mike, our operations manager and one of our two directors. Learn more about Mike, his role, and why he encourages anyone interested in site engineering to get involved.

Tell us a little about yourself

I’m Mike Pinchbeck and I am a director at EASE. I like spending time with my family and friends, walking my dogs, playing old school games, and playing the guitar and piano.

What is your role title, and what do you do?

I’m a director, overseeing the company’s inner workings, including health and safety, environmental monitoring services, and quality aspects.

How long have you worked as a site engineer?

I’ve worked 19 years in the industry. I started as a trainee site engineer, then moved up to site engineer, senior engineer, engineering manager, and now director.

What made you want to pursue this career?

I worked with my brother, Rob, over the summer while I was at sixth form, and wanted to be a site engineer since that experience. Now we are directors of EASE together.

What do you enjoy about your job?

Working with family, friends and great people, and being involved with all aspects of helping to run a company.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I enjoy my role, looking after what a lot of people may think is the boring part of running a business. I find it incredibly interesting and rewarding.

Do any challenges come with your job?

Yes, there are a lot of time pressures and people factors that change on a daily basis, but I enjoy the challenge.

Do you have any favourite moments from your time as a site engineer, or a favourite project you’ve worked on?

My favourite project was the new water treatment works at Clenchwarton in 2006.

It was the first project I worked on and it was extremely varied and interesting.

What would you say to someone considering a site engineering role?

It’s a great career. There are daily challenges and you’ll never experience the same day twice. It’s an extremely rewarding job.
